Bajjodi, June 10th, 2018 : The Sunday Catechism Year 2018-19 was inaugurated symbolically on Sunday June 10th at 9.15am mass. . All children came with joy and enthusiasm for the Sunday catechism class. The theme of the Catechetical Year “Our Lady of Rosary is the Mother of Family Catechesis”. It was very fitting that we inaugurated the catechism year with the celebration of the word of God - the Enthronement of the Bible. All the teachers and One representative from each class came in procession to the Altar. The Holy Bible was then handed over to the representative parents, which they turn handed over to the catechism teachers & then to two representatives students. The students placed the holy bible on the stand. Holy Bible was honoured with flowers. During the Holy Mass the Catechism Teachers were called upon to renew the vows and commit themselves to the wonderful ministry of teaching Catechism.

Fr Ivan D’souza presided over the ceremony. In his sermon, Fr. Ivan emphasized on the need of Catechism and Christian upbringing. He encouraged the children to be faithful to the catechism classes and take keen interest in learning about truths of Christian Faith. Teachers pledged their commitment to the ministry of catechising children. Fr. Ivan D’souza introduced 3 Bethany as well as 2 AC sisters and wished them all the best. The liturgy was coordinated by the Catechism Coordinator Mrs. Stella D’souza and Catechism Teachers.
