Oct 08, 2017: Senior Citizen's Day was celebrated in the Community Hall at Infant Mary Church, Bajjodi, on Sunday October 8th.
The program began with the Eucharistic Celebration at 10.30 a.m. Fr Shabas Crasta was the main celebrant. Asst. Priest concelebrated the Eucharist. Fr.Shabas Crasta preached an inspiring homily.
The cultural program began with a prayer song by the parish choir. A short stage programe was held. Parish Priest Fr. Shabas Crasta, Asst. Priest Fr. Ivan D’souza, Dr. Naveen Rodrigues, Vice President, Mr. Joseph Mascarenhas, Secretary, Mrs. Irene Pinto, Family Cell President Mrs. Gracy Rasquinha were present on the dais. Mr. Lancy Menezes welcomed the gathering. All the dignitaries inaugurated the programe by lighting the lamp. Speaking on the occasion, parish priest Fr. Shabas Crasta said, “We are celebrating this day out of joy, and happines.” Later he extended a gratitude to the family cell members who organized this programe. Soon after, Dr. Naveen Rodrigues gave a talk on health tips. It was really an enriching and meaningful insight to the senior citizens.
SCC members entertained the crowd with dance, skit and songs. This was followed by spot prizes conducted by Mr. Eugine D’cunha. Parish Priest and Asst. Priest distributed gifts to all the senior citizens. On this wonderful day one could witness the enthusiasm and energy of the senior citizens as they celebrated the day that belonged to them.
Eugine D’cunha compered the programme and Mr. Gracy Rasquinha proposed the vote of thanks. The program culminated with a sumptuous meal. It was appreciated and relished by all.
