Sept 13, 2017: Konkani Natak Sabha, on Sunday, September 10, organised the 17th Parish Dance competition for parishioners of the diocese at the Don Bosco Hall, Mangaluru. The competition was inaugurated by president Fr Paul Melwyn D’Souza and office bearers. The competition was held in three categories - below 10 years, 10 to 15 years and above 15 years in ladies duet, gents duet, mixed group and married couple groups.
As many as 125 participants in 44 entries from 11 parishes took part in the competition. In the below-15 year’s category, Cordel parish bagged the first place while Bajjodi parish stood second and Cascia, third.
In the above-15 years category Inter Cordel bagged the place, Permannur Parish second and Urwa third place. John M Permannur, Prashanth Albert D’Souza and Gouri Rao were the jurors of the competitions.
Fr Paul Melwyn D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Raymond D’Cunha and Jossy Theodore compered the programme. General secretary Judith D’Souza introduced the judges. Vice president Sunil Menezes proposed the vote of thanks and convenor Nigil Pereira announced the results.

Gents Duet : Second place - Annan D’Souza and Shreyas D’Souza, Bajjodi
Mixed Group : Second place - Aldrin Rasquinha and Group, Bajjodi
Above 15 years -
Ladies Duet : Third place - Seema Carlo and Clerita Lobo, Bajjodi
Gents Duet : Third place - Cleon D’Silva and Benet Braganza, Bajjodi
Mixed group : Third place - Rainesh D’Souza and group, Bajjodi
