Provincial Superior Rev. Fr. George Santhumayor arrived for the pastoral visitation to Infant Mary Parish at 5pm on 5th February 2022.

The Solemn mass was celebrated at 5.30pm, wherein new Provincial  was the main celebrant. The mass was concelebrated by the Parish Priest Fr. Ivan D'souza, Provincial Secretary Fr. Vinod Lobo, Companion Priest Fr. Patrick Lobo and Fr. Ryan Pinto. Fr. Provincial in his Homily preached on the theme – Vision & Mission.

In the end Parish Priest, Fr. Ivan Dsouza congratulated Fr. Santhumayor on being elected as the Provincial Superior on behalf of all the parishioners, as this was his first visit after election. Fr. Ivan Dsouza also thanked him for his support and encouragement. The mass was followed by a meeting of Provincial with the members of the Parish Pastoral Council and Secular Carmel respectively.  

The PPC meeting began with a prayer lead by Fr. Ivan Dsouza. Vice President Mr. Prakash Saldanha welcomed Provincial Fr Santhumayor, Superior Fr. Charles Serrao, Fr. Ivan Dsouza, Fr. Patrick Lobo and the gathering.  A bouquet of flowers was presented to the Provincial by Fr. Ivan D'souza. The parish report was read by the Council Secretary Mrs. Irene Pinto. Fr. Provincial thanked the priests and the PPC members for their love and prayers and asked them to grow in spiritual aspects.

The PPC meeting was followed by OCDs meeting wherein Parish Priest led the prayer service. President of OCDs Mrs. Asuntha Mendonca welcomed Provincial, Fr. Ivan Dsouza and Fr. Patrick Lobo and the gathering.  A bouquet was presented to the Provincial by Fr. Ivan D'souza. The parish OCDs report was read by Secretary Mrs. Laveena Dsouza. Fr. Provincial in his message reminded the Motto of  Carmelite Order –1 Kings 19:10: "Zelo zelatus sum pro Domine Deo exercituum (I am full of zeal for the Lord God of Hosts)" and invited everyone to have the burning zeal to experience God and share the same  with others thus motivating them to join the vocation through our example.
