The feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, also called the 'Monthi Fest', was celebrated with devotion at Bajjodi on Wednesday the 08th of September, 2021.

The celebration began at 8.00am with the blessing of the new paddy. The beautiful age-old tradition of offering flowers to Mother Mary was performed by the parishioners with devotion as the choir sang the traditional hymns. This was followed by the Solemn Mass wherein Rev. Fr. Rudolph Raj Pinto was the main Celebrant. Parish Priest Fr. Ivan D’souza, Fr. Patrick Lobo, Fr. Michael Morris, Fr. Rayan Pinto, concelebrated in the Holy Eucharist. In his homily, Fr. Rudolph Pinto expounded the uniqueness of the feast, bringing out the virtues of mother Mary and related it to how the values of the parents have an effect on children.

At the end of the mass, Parish Priest Fr. Ivan Dsouza thanked everyone for their whole hearted support which led to the success of the feast. The liturgy was organized by YCS & ICYM.

Blessed strands of paddy, sweets and sugarcanes were distributed to the parishioners after mass.
