Feb.26, 2018: The Annual Catechism Day of our parish was held on Feb.25th Sunday, with much fervour and enthusiasm. It was the day to thank the Lord for the gift of Faith. It was also the day marked to felicitate the parish children who have been successful in learning the truths of our faith.

 

 

 

 

 

The celebration began at 9 a.m. with the Eucharistic Celebration celebrated by Asst. Priest Fr. Ivan D’Souza in his homily said, through catechism and Sunday classes the Christian Faith has to be nurtured and parents must take responsibilities to send their children to the classes. Children took active part in the liturgy. The children’s melodious choir added more beauty to the celebration.

After the Mass, refreshments were served to all. The cultural program was held in the church hall presided over by Parish Priest Fr. Shabas Crasta. Sr. Shalini, A.C. was the Chief Guest. She spoke on the importance of Catechism to Children and invited the parents to take keen interest to send the children for daily mass and catechism. Speaking on the occasion Fr. Shabas Crasta appreciated the efforts of the catechism teachers and the coordinators in imparting religious education. Mrs. Irene Pinto the catechism coordinator presented the annual report.

The cultural performance included the exhibition of talents from the students of Standard First to YCS. The various value based cultural items enhanced the beauty of the day’s celebration. Prizes were distributed to the students who maintained 100% attendance, toppers in the catechism exam and the best student in the Class. A token of appreciation was given to the teachers for their voluntary service to conduct the catechism classes. Fr. Ivan D’souza welcomed the gathering. Shreyas & Anush compeered the programe.
